A Golf Week in Bangkok for $2,000
Seven nights, six rounds, a 4-star hotel and real food and drinks: about $1,840 a head for four friends sharing a van, or $2,390 alone. Here's the day-by-day plan with named courses, the full budget in baht and dollars, and where to play at night.

A golf week in Bangkok costs about $2,000 a head. Seven nights, six rounds, a 4-star hotel, and eating and drinking like you're on holiday.
That's for four friends sharing a van and two twin rooms: about $1,840 each. Come alone and the same week is about $2,390. Same courses, same hotel, same food. The $540 difference is the van and the room.
I live in Bangkok, and I'm a golf addict. This is the week I'd set up for friends flying in.
Why Bangkok
Bangkok has everything any major city has. Good restaurants, nightlife, hotels, sightseeing. On a golf trip that matters. You play in the afternoon or under the lights, and the city is still going when you get back.
It also has a lot of golf. Dozens of courses in and around the city, several of them lit for night play. That's the trick to this whole plan: none of the six rounds tees off before 11 a.m. You skip the worst of the heat and the morning traffic, and the late rates are cheaper.
The ground rules
- $2,000 = 67,000 THB at 33.5 baht to the dollar.
- Flights aren't included. Everything else is: airport transfers, hotel, food and drinks, golf, caddie tips, and the ride to every course.
- The main plan is four golfers sharing one hired van and two twin rooms. Solo numbers sit right next to it.
- Tip 500 baht a round, never below the caddie fee. Every course in the plan charges 500 or less. Book a specific caddie and it's about 1,000. The rules are in the caddie guide.
- "All-in" means green fee, caddie fee and cart. The tip is on top.
The 7-night plan
| Day | Course | When | Fees (THB) | Tip | Total (THB) | USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arrive | |||||
| 2 | RSU Vista | Afternoon | 1,000 all-in | 500 | 1,500 | $45 |
| 3 | Bangkok Golf Club | Night | ~3,150 all-in | 500 | 3,650 | $109 |
| 4 | Panya Indra | Night | 3,100 all-in | 500 | 3,600 | $107 |
| 5 | Pinehurst | After 11 a.m. | 1,800 + 400 caddie + 700 cart | 500 | 3,400 | $101 |
| 6 | Rachakram | Afternoon or night | 1,200 + 350 caddie + 800 cart | 500 | 2,850 | $85 |
| 7 | Summit Windmill | Night, Tue–Fri | 3,250 all-in, incl. a meal | 500 | 3,750 | $112 |
| 8 | Fly home | |||||
| Golf, 6 rounds | 18,750 | $560 |
Pinehurst's 1,800 is its own posted foreigner rate for a weekday after 11 a.m. (green fee only; the caddie is 400 and the cart 700). Booking sites list it higher, so check the club's price before you pay a platform's.
Day 2: RSU Vista. One of Bangkok's cheapest courses. After 12 p.m. on weekdays, green fee, caddie and cart run 1,000–1,300 baht. It has night golf too. A cheap, easy round to shake off the flight.
Day 3: Bangkok Golf Club. The fastest greens in Thailand. The night rate starts at 3 p.m. and the lights stay on until midnight. It's about 3,150 all-in, against roughly 4,250 by day.
Day 4: Panya Indra. Three 9-hole courses. Some of the best-looking caddies in Bangkok, and drink stops on the course. The night package is 3,100 Tuesday to Friday, caddie and cart included. The club's own rate card lists caddies at 500, or 1,000 for what it calls a "pretty caddy." Tip accordingly. This is my pick for night golf.
Day 5: Pinehurst. 27 holes in Pathum Thani. Foreigners pay a separate, higher rate than Thais: 2,300 before 11 a.m. on weekdays, 1,800 after (3,000 and 2,100 at weekends), plus caddie and cart. Ask whether it's a sport day when you book.
Day 6: Rachakram. The budget round of the back half. It's out in Ayutthaya province, so the van waits longer. The green fee is 1,200 by day on weekdays, and 1,200 at night every day from 3 p.m. Play runs until midnight. The cart price is golfdd's. The official rate page doesn't list one.
Day 7: Summit Windmill. It's near the airport. Many people play it the day before they leave. That's why it's last. The weekday night package (Tuesday to Friday, tee times 4:08–7:30 p.m.) is 3,250 all-in at the club's regular rate, and it includes a lunch or dinner voucher, so dinner's covered. Through October 2026 a promotion brings it to 3,100. Booking sites have listed it far lower, so book with the club.
Swap option: The Pine. Also a good course, with night golf. That's from my own experience; it's not on the club's website. Its posted weekday green fee is 800 for foreigners (Thais pay 680), plus a 350 caddie and a 500–700 cart: about 1,650–1,850 all-in. A longer drive than the others.
Which days of the week?
Six rounds in six days means two land on a weekend. The plan is priced at weekday rates, so choose your weekend courses carefully.
Two courses charge the same at night every day: Bangkok Golf Club and Rachakram. Panya Indra is closed on Mondays.
So land on a Friday and run it like this: Bangkok Golf Club Saturday night, Rachakram Sunday from 3 p.m., RSU Vista Monday, Panya Indra Tuesday, Pinehurst Wednesday, Summit Windmill Thursday night, fly home Friday. Every price in the table holds.
Get it wrong and it costs you: Panya Indra is closed on Mondays, and Summit Windmill's night package runs Tuesday to Friday.
The budget
Per person, seven nights.
| Line item | Group of 4, per head (THB) | USD | Solo (THB) | USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Golf, 6 rounds incl. tips | 18,750 | $560 | 18,750 | $560 |
| Transport to the courses, 6 round trips | 5,250 | $157 | 14,700 | $439 |
| Hotel, 7 nights, 4-star in Sukhumvit | 8,750 | $261 | 17,500 | $522 |
| Food and drinks, 7 days @ 4,000 | 28,000 | $836 | 28,000 | $836 |
| Airport transfers (estimate) | 1,000 | $30 | 1,000 | $30 |
| Total | 61,750 | $1,843 | 79,950 | $2,387 |
| Range | $1,500–2,130 | $1,870–2,780 |
Where the numbers come from:
- Transport. Solo, a hired car with a driver runs 2,000–2,900 baht per round trip. I've used about 2,450. For four, a hired van runs 3,000–4,000 a round trip. Split four ways, about 875 each. Over six rounds that's 5,250 a head against 14,700 alone.
- Hotel. A 4-star in Sukhumvit, around 2,500 a night. That's a rough snapshot from booking sites, not a quote. I've seen 1,400–3,000. Two golfers to a twin room halves it. Where to stay is its own article: where to stay in Bangkok.
- Food and drinks. My budget is 3,000–5,000 baht a day. That's a proper dinner, beers at the clubhouse, and a night out or two. It's the biggest line on the bill, bigger than the golf. A budget day of street food is 300–500. You could eat that way. On a golf week with your friends, you won't.
- The ranges. The low end is the cheaper hotel, 3,000 a day on food, and the cheaper car or van. The high end is the opposite.
What the $2,000 leaves. A group of four has about $160 a head left, roughly 5,250 baht. That covers a seventh round, a weekend round at full price, a couple of big nights out, or a better hotel. Pick one.
Solo? The two big costs are the car and the room. A 1,400-baht room instead of 2,500 saves 7,700 baht over the week. Better still, find one more golfer. Two of you splitting the car and the room closes most of the gap.

Getting to the course
If you have an international driving permit or a Thai licence, you can drive yourself. If not, take a taxi or hire a driver. A hired driver's price depends on the distance and how long they wait for you.
For a group, hire a van. It's 3,000–4,000 baht a round trip. Four golfers with four bags won't fit in a sedan.
Night golf means a long wait. You leave mid-afternoon and get back at 10 p.m. or later. Agree the waiting time and the price up front, ideally for the whole week with one driver.
Night golf near Bangkok
It's hot here. Night golf is how a lot of people play. Last tee time is usually around 7 p.m., and you finish between 10 and midnight.
| Course | Night tee times | Night price, weekday | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangkok Golf Club | From 3 p.m.; lights to midnight | ~3,150 all-in | Same rate every day |
| Panya Indra | About 3–7 p.m. | 3,100 all-in, Tue–Fri | 3,500 Saturday; none Sunday or Monday. My pick |
| Summit Windmill | About 4–7:30 p.m. | 3,250 all-in incl. a meal, Tue–Fri (3,100 promo to 31 Oct 2026) | Weekend night golf runs; ask the price |
| Rachakram | From 3 p.m.; last tee 7 p.m. (6 p.m. Sunday); play to midnight | 1,200 green + caddie + cart | Same green fee every day |
| RSU Vista | 3–7 p.m. | Afternoon rate + 150 for the lights | |
| The Pine | Ask | Not published | Night golf, from my own experience |
High season
None of these courses publish separate high-season rates. golfdd lists their prices "until further notice." Don't assume a price holds in December. Check it when you book.
Hotels do go up, November to February. If you're coming then, budget the top of the hotel range.
Clubs: bring them or rent?
Bring them. Rental at the course is 800–1,200 baht a round for a standard set, and 1,500–2,000+ for a premium set. Six rounds of standard rental is 4,800–7,200 baht ($143–215).
Check your airline's golf-bag rule against your actual fare. These come from snippets of the airlines' own pages:
| Airline | Golf bag |
|---|---|
| Thai Airways | Counts toward your allowance. Since 2 March 2026, Saver/Standard fares get one 23 kg bag, so clubs plus a suitcase costs about $80 extra |
| Emirates, ANA, JAL | Within your allowance |
| Qatar | Within your allowance. If you're over, prepaid $150/200/250 by weight |
| Singapore Airlines | Within your allowance, 32 kg max |
| EVA | One piece regardless of size. Hard case, notify 24 hours ahead |
| United, American | Counts as a standard checked bag, no oversize fee up to 115 linear inches |
Even at $80, bringing your clubs beats renting.
How to book
- Check the club's own rate page first. Booking sites like golfdd.com are handy for live tee times, but their prices can be well off the club's posted rate, in both directions. For this week, Pinehurst was 1,100 baht cheaper at the club and Summit Windmill's night golf was 1,450 dearer. Bangkok Golf Club doesn't post rates at all, so call.
- Find the sport day. Many courses run a reduced green fee on set weekdays. It's one of my go-to moves for a cheaper round. Ask when you book.
- Play late. Afternoon, twilight and night rates are where the savings are. This plan already does it.
- Book Rachakram online. Paying online takes 100 baht off per person.
- Book RSU Vista a day or two ahead.
- Book one driver for the week, with the waiting time agreed for the night rounds.
- File your Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). It's free and mandatory, filed in the 3 days before you arrive. Use only tdac.immigration.go.th. Copycat sites charge for it. Since 15 September 2026, visa-free stays for US, UK, Canadian, Australian and about 60 other passports are 30 days, not 60. A week is fine. Staying the winter? See the 3-to-6-month guide.
- Bring cash. 500 baht a round for the tip, plus small notes for your caddie's drink at the halfway hut.
Want it cheaper?
Bangkok isn't the cheapest place to golf in Thailand. Hua Hin's courses sit close to town, and local packages bundle the green fee, caddie and the drive. Pattaya has about 30 courses within 30 km. Both cut the transport line.
What you give up is the city. For a week with friends, I'd take Bangkok.
The short version
- About $1,840 a head for four friends, $2,390 alone. Seven nights, six rounds, flights not included.
- The gap is the van and the room. Share both.
- Play late. Every round starts after 11 a.m. Three are under the lights.
- Tip 500 a round, never below the caddie fee. Cash, at the end.
- Land on a Friday so your weekend rounds are the ones that don't cost extra.
